UK's 7 Armd Brigade make final preparations before deployment to Afghanistan
Defence Photography were invited to photograph the British Army's 7th Armd Bde on their final major Exercise before they deploy to Afghanistan in October this year. This included a briefing by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier James Woodham OBE MC and viewing a number of training displays and equipment stands. This was a most impressive event and showed how the UK MoD is keeping up the momentum on Operations.
The Exercise included integrated air and land assets necessary for the Brigade's particular mission. The Exercise involved the dismantling of a training FOB and extraction of high value equipment such as artillery systems by Chinook helicopter whilst being given air cover by Apache helicopters. Major logistics moves were practiced as part of the skills required to drawdown from an area of operations.
