Instead of shooting this image as a static product studio photograph, we decided to included a soldier holding the ammunition to give the shape, size and weight of the CT40 ammunition, real life context.
Cutaway training ammunition:
This style of photograph is used by our clients for 'bid documents' and marketing. It is a classic, clean and informative view but has a narrow depth of field in order to highlight the APFSDS rod.
Defence and security product photography is different to most other forms of product photography. Here, the technoloigy has been photographed with integrity and consideration to suit its deadly but necessary function.
Defence advertising photography
This new ammunition system is well on the way to qualification and initial production in both France and UK. The advertising brief could be to show its key visual signal of its innovative shape, which the photograph has highlighted in the reflective surface.
Weapon studio photography
We have used an unusual perspective and focussed on the trigger rather than the whole weapon in this photograph. Similar images are often used for marketing, sales and product information documents.
On-location 'studio' photography
Specialist lighting was used to highlight the interface between the band track and rubber sprocket on this new and innovative track system from Soucy of Canada (www.soucy-group.com). Our client was keen to demonstrate the integration of the track to the sprocket system. Only when seen in such extreme close-up can the benefits of the Band track integration be seen.
It is a high-performance, low-maintenance alternative for the segmented metal track traditionally used for tracked combat vehicles, the lightweight rubber composite band track travels smoothly around suspension components with minimal vibration and noise. The photograph in close-up highlights this lack of metal.
Electro-optic studio shot
This was an on-location studio shot taken for a specialist media outlet. The photograph concentrates on the handling features of the sight for the soldier.
Emotive studio photography
This function of this photograph was to focus on the serial numbers, first and foremost. We used the stark contrast between the near black and bright white to our advantage, to produce an eye catching image that could be used in product advertising and other media.
